As exhibitors begin their journey home and the clean-up begins, we take a moment to reflect on our time at the 2015 Brisbane Truck Show. The biennial event is one of the biggest on the transport industry’s calendar, and so what better platform to launch our exciting new range of heavy duty trailers.
Held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from 14th to 17th May, the Brisbane Truck Show brings together all the major stakeholders in the Australian transport industry to show off their latest trucks, technology and equipment.
All told, nearly 40,000 people turned up to see more than 130 exhibitors, including all the major truck brands, numerous truck-related accessory and service providers, and a swathe of truck media representatives and government groups.
Excitement over new Tilt Slide Trailer
As for our contribution, our new extendable 3×4 tilt slide trailer with its 4×4 hybrid steering widener float took pride of place at the Drake Trailers stand.
Speaking on the innovative design of this trailer combo, Drake’s General Manager Khali Lake said, “In recent years, we have seen a high demand for smaller, versatile floats that can transport a variety of cargo from containers to small vehicles, machinery to palletised freight.”
“That’s why we began modifying some of our existing models, adding some new features and now have a solid range of smaller to medium sized trailers and the 3x4s are a prime example of that. The client can technically overload the trailer if in a controlled situation.”
“We think it’s a smart, well-engineered design is targeted at customers that need to transport a diverse range of items. For example, if the customer is working on a private site and needs to move heavy equipment or several items in one load, they can accomplish that.”
Drake merchandise and diecast models for the transport enthusiasts
Our stand also included our vast range of merchandise including our diecast scale models, belt buckles, jackets, leather bags and general product support. There was also an audio and visual demonstration of our trailers in action.
Overall, it was a successful event for Drake and we look forward to attending the next Brisbane Truck Show in 2017.
